Who are the REAL WRITERS Team?

We are a small organisation and plan to remain so, in order to continue to tailor our unique service to each client’s individual needs. All our tutors are established working writers; some have won or been nominated for major awards in their specialist areas. All are also experienced teachers.

FICTION

Meriel Patrick works for a leading publishing company, has been commissioning editor for a small specialist publisher, and is a published short story writer in her own right.

Roz Hart is a freelance editor specialising in popular fiction in a variety of genres.

POETRY

David Duncombe, a highly experienced published poet who has edited a small press magazine.

JOURNALISM

Lynne Patrick has been published in the Guardian, the Independent and national magazines, and freelances for a leading regional paper. In addition her short fiction has appeared in many magazines and anthologies and been highly placed in major competitions.

SCRIPTWRITING

Richard Hurford writes on commission for prestigious regional theatres and Radio 4, and is well versed in the techniques and requirements of television.

CHILDREN’S WRITING

Steve Bowkett has written extensively for children from 7 to 15, and creates educational material for a leading publisher. Steve also covers fantasy fiction for adults.
